Domestic Violence it’s a crime and bad for a relationship . People of various ages, colors, genders, and sexual orientations are affected by domestic violence. Domestic violence against men and same-sex domestic violence are often seen as less of a threat to society and the people involved, but it’s important to remember that male-on-female violence, female-on-male violence, and same-sex violence all have serious short- and long-term health consequences for both the victim and the batterer.
By comparing current published statistics on the prevalence of domestic violence in heterosexual and homosexual relationships, and analyzing the results of existing studies on the short- and long-term health effects of domestic violence, this paper determines whether men or women suffer from more long-term health problems as a result of domestic violence. The findings show that, while men and women suffer many of the same injuries, women are more likely to develop long-term health problems as a result of domestic violence.

However, according to the gender symmetry theory of domestic violence, women are just as likely as males to be aggressive.
People, on the other hand, are hesitant to accept that women, whether in a lesbian or heterosexual relationship, are capable of such violence . In heterosexual or same-sex partnerships, both men and women can be offenders or victims of domestic abuse; gender conceptions of domestic violence are outmoded and biased.
Domestic abuse can result in a variety of physical and mental health issues, both short and long term. Cuts, bruises, bite marks, concussions, broken bones, penetrative injuries like knife wounds, miscarriages, joint damage, loss of hearing and vision, migraines, permanent disfigurement, arthritis, hypertension, heart disease, and sexually transmitted infections like the human papillomavirus (HPV), which can lead to cervical cancer and eventually death, are just a few of the physical injuries that can occur. Depression, alcohol or substance misuse, anxiety, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, sleeping and eating disorders, social dysfunction, and suicide are some of the mental health issues that can arise as a result of domestic violence.
